About Hogan's Funeral Home

Eugene Hogan set up this funeral home in 1933 in what was originally the ticket office for the Tralee to Dingle light railway and tramway. It operated from 1891 to 1953. The arches represent the entrances to the building at that time and the viewing rooms stone wall and hatches remain in tact and represent a historic feature in the funeral home.

That heritage is still reflected in the building itself with many of its beautiful old Victorian features still intact and adding to it's character and charm.

His son Gerard then took over the business. Gerard, referred to as a quiet man of immense humanity he took great pride in the funeral business and ran it up until his death in January 2020 (may he rest in peace).

For over sixty years, John O'Rahilly worked side by side with Gerard in catering to family’s funeral needs.
